Where in the world is Henny?

If you’ve been to the shop in the last month, you probably missed out on a visit with Henny. She’s been travelling, but sent some photos and an update on her latest adventure on the east coast…

“Woolen yarn has been spun in the water-powered brick town of Harrisville, New Hampshire since 1794. it is recognized as the only 18th century textile village that survives in it’s original form. Larry and I were privileged to visit this fall and see where our Peace Fleece yarns come from.

Although the mill wasn’t open to the public during our visit, we did get to meet the people responsible for sending us the yarn. They invited us into the design store and introduced us to their latest offerings. We are hoping that some of the new yarns, Shetland and Highland, as well as the Daylight Collection will arrive at the shop in time for you to enjoy during the West Michigan Yarn Quest later this month!”

Yarn Highlights!

Arne and Carlos Pairfect Sock Yarn

Guys. This is so cool.

This innovation by REGIA makes it incredibly simple to knit two identical self-patterned socks from one skein. It’s very easy: The yellow starter thread - which comes from inside the yarn skein - marks the beginning of each sock. Simply cut off the yellow starter thread and begin knitting the first sock. After the first sock is completed, unwind the yarn to the next yellow starter thread and cut it off. Then simply knit the second sock.
