It’s time for another Knit-a-long! September is Stephen West-ember! Pick your favorite Stephen West pattern and join us for some colorful creative knitting! Save 15% on your yarn and pattern with our KAL discount. We have a few samples made up at the shop, and you can find his entire collection of patterns on Ravelry by clicking HERE. If some of the projects seem a little too wild for your taste, consider using more muted colors or a neutral palette - search the “project” tab on specific patterns to see how other knitters have used color choices to make a pattern fit their personal style.

August KAL participants: Sweater Weather is coming! Stop by the shop at 7:00 pm during KNIT NIGHT on Wednesday October 6th for a group photo with your Ramona Cardigan! We can’t wait to get all of those gorgeous cardis together for a beautiful photo!
West Michigan Yarn Quest 2021 Passports are on sale!
The West Michigan Yarn Quest is scheduled for October 15-23, 2021 and you can purchase your passport now! The passport is $10 and will be your ticket to all kinds of fiber fun. Be sure to follow the WMYQ social media pages for the latest details. You can find them on Instagram and Facebook. If you purchased a passport for the 2020 Yarn Quest you can trade that in for a 2021 passport at the shop where you purchased it.
If you need something to keep you busy while you wait for the West Michigan Yarn Quest to begin, you might enjoy making the Special ReQuest Cowl! There are free patterns available on Ravelry in both KNIT and CROCHET versions! Make one (or more) to wear during the quest… What a fun way to connect with other questers!
Join us for an evening of live music and knitting at the park! Henny’s Yarn Shop will be sponsoring the September edition of the Caledonia Summer Concert Series on Tuesday September 7. We will have a tent set up so you can spot us and we will be selling raffle tickets for a very special sampler afghan that will be given away to the raffle winner later this fall. We had the exciting opportunity to host Kristy Glass for an interview with Henny and a tour of the yarn shop. She is as delightful in person as she is on her YouTube Channel and we can’t wait until she publishes the interview. FEATURED YARN: We want to gush about Rainbow Beach for a bit… We were looking for a nice affordable alternative to one of the popular (and pricier) color shifting yarns used by the designers of some of our favorite patterns. We think we Rainbow Beach hits the spot. It is a 100% wool sport weight yarn we have found to be perfect for patterns like Illuminate and Sparky by Andrea Mowry.
