April at HYS

LYS Day is coming up this month! Mark your calendars for Saturday April 30, 2022. LYS is a day set aside to celebrate the connection of locally owned yarn shops and the communities they connect with. We love our customers and want to thank you for choosing to do business with us. Crochet is trending in the fashion world right now and we will be focusing on crochet lessons in April to get everyone up to speed for Crochet in May! Saturdays in May will be dedicated to three different project workshops. More details about the projects will be coming in the next newsletter, but you will need to brush up on your basic crochet stitches or learn for the first time. Tunisian and Mosaic crochet are techniques we will use in a couple of the projects, so if you’re new to these, you can call the shop and schedule a lesson to get ready for the fun coming in May :)

Summer Sesame is another fun yarn for playing with color! Bright, happy shades of colors ebb and flow to make this worsted weight yarn a perfect summer choice. This cotton blend yarn is light to the touch, easy to work with and self striping. It’s a blend of 47% Cotton - 44% Acrylic - 9% Nylon / Polyamide and comes in 295 yd/100 g balls. We think it looks great knit into the following summer sweater…
The colors in this new yarn are ever surprising. Linello is a beautiful yarn made of linen, cotton and just a small percentage of viscose.
