November at HYS...

Ahhhhh! The crisp cool days of autumn have finally arrived! It’s officially SWEATER WEATHER! Who else has been waiting for this more than pumpkin spice everything?!?

We chose two of Caitlyn Hunter’s colorwork sweaters for this month’s KAL. They are both made with worsted weight yarn so they knit up rather quickly, and Caitlyn’s colorwork charts are easy to follow, even for a knitter who is ready to tackle their first stranded colorwork project. Take your pick from her newest BERGMAN pattern, or an oldy but goodie - the KOIVUA pattern. Click on those pattern names to hop over to their Raverly pages. You’lll save 15% on yarn and pattern when you join in on the Knit-a-Long!

Henny decided to get a jump start on a sample for the shop. She’s using a fun new yarn at the shop - Color Marvel from Ella Rae. It’s a worsted weight yarn that looks very similar to a popular but pricey yarn that is used in many colorwork patterns. We think it pairs nicely with many of the solid worsteds we have in stock. Stop by soon to choose your favorite combo!

the KOIVUA

The Koivua sweater features bands of feather themed colorwork interspersed with textured sections for an interesting knit. Kristen chose a variegated contrast on a creamy background and thinks it’s one of the most favorite sweaters she’s ever made. The pattern was fun and the fit is perfect.
