New Year, New Skills!

The New Year brings fresh opportunities to add to our knitting skills. We will be offering two upcoming classes… Double Knitting and Brioche Knitting. Dates and times below. Stop by the shop to sign up and purchase your supplies BEFORE your class so class time can be devoted to instruction. You’ll save 15% on your yarn when you sign up for the class!

Brioche Knitting - Harlow Hat by Andrea Mowry

This 90 minute class will cover a two color tubular cast on and getting started with brioche knitting technique. Skill level: Intermediate.

Cost of class: $15

Dates/time offered: Saturday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, January 30 at 1:30 p.m.

Supplies needed:

Fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors, about 160 yds each

Size 2 - 16” circular

Size 3 - 16” circular, plus DPNs or longer circular for magic loop

Class taught by Kristen Johnson

Double Knitting

This class will be conducted in 2 one-hour sessions. The first session will cover casting on and getting started in double knitting. The second class will cover patterning using a letter or other design, as well as decreases and finishing. Skill Level: advanced beginner, must know how to knit and purl

Dates/times offered:

Wednesdays: Feb 6 & 13 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Saturdays: Feb 16 & 23 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Supplies needed:

Worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors, about 160 yds each

Size 6 - 16” circular, plus same size DPN for top of hat
